What a year it has been for us at AfriServ! We have continued to work tirelessly towards growing our business in every area, and have been privileged to be a part of a few landmark projects in Cape Town over the last year, providing specialist cleaning; waste management; landscaping; and parking services.
Our landscaping division, AfriLandscapes, was the primary landscaping contractor for the Grain Silo District which opened at the world-renowned V&A Waterfront earlier this year, and continues to provide on-going greening maintenance. We find ourselves at the centre of very exciting discussions around investigating opportunities for collaboration between our very own Silo District in Cape Town and Hamburg’s Silo District in Germany. But more will be revealed about that in the New Year!
The very severe water restrictions in our province has forced us to re-focus our thinking around how we do business across all our divisions, and I am pleased that my teams are still able to provide innovative and specialised solutions to our clients, particularly in landscaping; cleaning; and waste management, while ensuring that we do all we can to conserve this precious resource.
We provided deep cleaning services at the CTICC’s new Phase 2 development before occupation, and are delighted to have been partners in the extension of one of South Africa’s premier convention and event facilities.
Our efforts to strongly promote and profile our parking management expertise have seen us turning the corner in terms of growing our parking portfolio. We have started managing parking at Milpark Mews in Auckland Park in Johannesburg as of November, and are working towards growing AfriPark exponentially in 2018.
We continue to provide waste management services to the Burger King Group, and have been able to grow this area of the business successfully as they have expanded their footprint across the Western Cape.
In the last year we have started dabbling in the expo space. We had a stand at the Facilities’ Management Expo in Cape Town in October, and hope to have this become an annual event on our marketing calendar.
Our teams are at the heart of everything we do; without their commitment, passion, and dedication, we would not be able to achieve the milestones that we are able to celebrate this year. My heartfelt appreciation and thanks to each and every one of my team members.
