I would like to say thank you for your service – the garden that you created a year ago as well as the synthetic turf you just installed. It has been a pleasure dealing with all of you – from yourself, Razeen, Linly, and Augustine and all the hard-working labour men. Although most of your planted flower beds died due to the drought, the feel of the garden has remained and the fact that I can now look outside and not feel depressed by dead grass and sand – is uplifting even though it is synthetic turf! • Tell us something about yourself in about 3 – 5 lines.
I’m a people’s person. I like watching sports. I enjoy a good home cooked meal.
• What are you passionate about/what gets you out of bed in the morning?
I’m passionate about watching sport. My family, and seeing them happy, is what gets me out of bed in the morning.
• If you could change one thing that would make the world a better place, what would it be?
I would make crime non-existent.
• What is your role at Afri-Serv?
I’m a Site Manager and manage on-site parking staff. I am also responsible for ensuring that maximum revenue is derived from parking operations.
• What does working at Afri-Serv mean to you?
I love being part of an organisation and playing a role in its success.
Members of Afri-Serv’s cleaning, waste management, and security staff have recently undergone skills training as part of their on-going development. The training programme was run and presented by Grand Parade Investments, and included computer skills (which also included a design element), basic finance, communications coaching, and social media etiquette. The programme also included life skills tuition in the areas of drug awareness, gender violence, and leadership.
The desired outcome of the programme is to boost self-confidence and to empower and equip staff members to embrace challenges, and be equipped with the requisite skills to turn them into opportunities, both in the workplace, but also in their personal lives.
